Who is a Hospice Volunteer?

  •  A Hospice Volunteer is a person who knocks on the door in spite of fear.
  • A Hospice Volunteer is someone who does not make decisions for other people.
  • A Hospice Volunteer is someone who affirms life in the face of suffering and death.
  • A Hospice Volunteer is a person who can remain calm in a crisis.
  • A Hospice Volunteer is a person who can say and mean, “I WILL BE THERE.”
  • A Hospice Volunteer is a person who arrives at the stated time and knows when it is time to leave.
  • A Hospice Volunteer is capable of being honest with him/herself and is sensitive about being honest with others.

Dear Potential Volunteer,

First let me start off by thanking you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with Hometown Homecare. It takes a special person to consider volunteering. Being a volunteer for this agency is both enjoyable and rewarding. Volunteers are valued members of our hospice team and are seen as just as important as our employees. Once your training has been completed, you can volunteer as much as you like based on your availability. There are NO time requirements you must meet to remain a volunteer for our agency.
